Artist Notes:

This little Golden Retriever dog design started as a "Finish one pixel portrait a day" self-challenge in 2016. 2022, I dusted off these old ideas to animate into these  8 side-scrolling dogs.

2023, quadruped 4-legged characters are surprisingly more difficult to reconstruct in front and back views than 2-legged. I was also clueless on how to spot 3 animation errors at the same time while my eye problems fluctuated, so animating anything became a mess.

2024, I tested out new animation methods with a different silly dog design. 2025, I finally was able to finish syncing up the front and back animations with the existing side-scrolling poses.

Thank you for appreciating my clumsy animation journey, during these brief moments in life when I can still see and value what I create, no matter how imperfect they are. May life be smooth-sailing for all of creators out there.

Time taken: 78 hours of fumbling to get Top Down volumes to sync up with existing Side view animations by human eye. Entire pixel dogs series has taken 2070 hours to figure out how to animate, spot and fix mistakes.
